Bashundhara Group chairman condoles death of Sahara Khatun

Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan has expressed profound shock at the death of Awami League (AL) Presidium Member and former Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun MP, who passed away at Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand on Thursday night.

In a condolence message, Ahmed Akbar Sobhan said the country lost an honest and sincere politician. Her death is an irreparable loss to the country’s political arena. People will remember her contributions with due respect for long.

“I express my deep sympathy to the members of the bereaved family and pray to the Almighty Allah to give them strength to bear this irreparable loss and for the salvation of the departed soul,” he added.
Sahara Khatun passed away at 11:25pm (local time) at Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok.

Earlier on Monday, Advocate Sahara Khatun was flown to Thailand for better treatment.

The lawmaker of Dhaka-18 constituency was released from Dhaka’s United Hospital around 11:20 in the morning on the same day.

On June 2, she had been admitted to United Hospital in the capital’s Gulshan area with allergy, fever and cold-related complications. Later she was shifted to the ICU on June 19 as her condition deteriorated.

Advocate Sahara Khatun was elected as lawmaker three times from Dhaka-18 constituency.
